1.5KgChicken pieces
250mlWater
2tbspBlack Sauce
2tbspSoy Sauce
200grPlain Flour
1PacketElfreds Southern Fried Chicken Spice
200mlOil
Instructions
In a shallow bowl mix the water and the Black Sauce and Soy Sauce. Leave to marinade for at least 12 hours.
Mix 1 packet of ELFREDS SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN with the flour and place in a clean dry plastic bag.
One at a time dip the chicken pieces into the flour mix, letting the excess water drain off. Shake in the flour. Shake off the excess flour and fry in hot oil.
If you desire a more crunchy batter repeat the water and seasoned flour procedure again before frying.
They will take about 20 to 25 minutes to fry depending on the size. For a crunchy finish; but a juicy piece of chicken, after frying the chicken for 10 min in the hot oil. Place the chicken on a wire cooling rack over a baking tray in the oven on amoderate heat and bake for 15 to 20 mins depending on the size of the chicken pieces.
